1. Who we are and what this is
bookacla.ss is a booking link for independent instructors ("creators"). A creator publishes a page with their classes and passes; people ("customers") book and pay through it. These terms apply to everyone who uses the platform, whichever side of the class they are on.
The creator, not bookacla.ss, is the seller of every class and pass. bookacla.ss provides the page, the booking, the payment collection and the records; it does not run the classes and is not a party to the contract between a creator and a customer for the class itself.
2. Booking and paying
A place is yours when the booking is confirmed. During checkout a place is held for five minutes; if payment does not complete in that time the place is released. Payment is collected by Stripe on the creator's behalf; card details never reach bookacla.ss.
Every confirmed booking carries a reference, a ticket and a record of the price, the class and the policy shown at the time. That record is what any later cancellation or refund follows, whatever the creator's settings are afterwards.
The price shown for a class or a pass is the whole price. bookacla.ss charges a booking fee on each purchase; where the creator asks their customers to cover it, it is included in the price shown and named beneath it, and nothing is added at checkout. The booking fee is bookacla.ss's own charge, collected alongside the creator's price as the creator's agent: the receipt for the class comes from the creator through Stripe, and the receipt for the booking fee from bookacla.ss.
A card you pay with may be kept by Stripe for future bookings, and a card you save from My classes is kept by Stripe on bookacla.ss's behalf so that you can book any creator here without typing it again. Where a creator has a no-show or late-cancellation policy, shown before you book, that policy is what a saved card may be charged under. You can remove a saved card at any time from My classes.
Free classes are booked without payment and carry the same ticket and record.
3. Cancellations and refunds
Each creator sets a cancellation cut-off in hours before the class, shown before you book and kept with your booking. Cancel before the cut-off and the class price is refunded and a pass credit is put back; cancel after it and the place is released but the payment or credit is kept. The booking fee is not refunded when you cancel, whatever the cut-off. The full basis is set out in the cancellation policy at /legal/cancellations.
If the creator cancels a class, every paid booking is refunded in full, booking fee included, and every pass credit is restored, whatever the cut-off. Refunds go back to the original payment method and are settled by Stripe, usually within five to ten working days.
4. Passes
A pass is a prepayment for a fixed number of credits with one creator, valid for the period shown when you buy it. One credit books one eligible class. Passes are not transferable and unused credits expire at the end of the validity period.
You may cancel a pass within fourteen days of buying it and receive the price back, less the creator's normal per-class price for any classes already taken with it. A creator may also offer a pass as a monthly subscription; each paid month issues a fresh pass, you may cancel at any time and keep every pass already paid for, and the fourteen-day right applies to the first pass only.
5. Tickets, check-in and attendance
Your ticket is a private link. Anyone holding it can present it at the door, so keep it to yourself; if it is shared or lost, the creator or support can issue a new one and the old link stops working.
Attendance is recorded at the class. A creator may correct a record within forty-eight hours of the class ending, with a reason kept on file.
6. Your responsibilities
- Give accurate details, including an email address that reaches you.
- Be eighteen or over, or the parent or guardian of the person attending, accepting the participation waiver on their behalf.
- Follow the creator's reasonable instructions at the class and tell them of anything relevant to your safety.
- Do not share tickets, resell places or use the platform to send unsolicited messages.
7. Creators
A creator must hold a Stripe account connected to bookacla.ss to take payment, is responsible for the accuracy of their page, for running the classes as described, for funding any refunds their cancellations create, and for disputes and chargebacks on their sales. bookacla.ss collects payment as the creator's agent; the money is the creator's from the moment it is paid.
Stripe's card-processing fee is borne by the creator on every sale and is not returned on a refund. The booking fee is bookacla.ss's: the creator chooses in their settings whether their customers cover it, split it with them, or the creator absorbs it, and that choice changes only what customers are asked for and what the creator keeps, never the fee itself. The fee in force is shown in the creator's settings and on this site, and a change to it is announced before it applies.
Where a creator sets a no-show or late-cancellation policy, the policy is the creator's and its collection is bookacla.ss's; bookacla.ss keeps 20% of what it collects under such a policy and pays the rest to the creator.
Customer details a creator exports are for the creator's own lawful communication with those customers, consistent with the consent recorded, and for nothing else.
bookacla.ss may suspend a page, a class or a pass product where it has reason to believe these terms are being broken or customers are at risk. New sales stop at once; existing customers keep their tickets, passes and the right to cancel.
8. What we are responsible for
We will run the platform with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for the classes themselves, for injury or loss arising from taking part in a class, or for a creator's failure to run a class as described — those sit with the creator. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Where we are liable to you, our liability is limited to the amount you paid through the platform in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Changes and contact
We may change these terms. A material change is dated and versioned, shown before it applies, and never changes the basis of a booking already made. Questions and complaints go to support@bookacla.ss. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
